Jason Isaacs (born June 6, 1963 in Liverpool, Merseyside, England) is an English actor of Eastern European Jewish descent.

Isaacs number 1 gained attention when a villain, Colonel William Tavington, in The Patriot (2000), with Mel Gibson. He has appeared inside several films like Divorcing Jack, Dragonheart, Event Horizon, The End of the Affair but most notably in the Harry Potter series playing Lucius Malfoy, as Captain Hook/Mr. Dear in P. J. Hogan's adaptation of Peter Pan. Jason has too appeared inside episodes of The West Wing as well as a approaching Showtime series Brotherhood. Reportedly Isaacs witharound is in consideration for the role of Lord Asriel in the upcoming 2007 film adaptation of Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy.
